Decanted Sample of Yesterday Haze by Imaginary Authors

The opening is all whiskey. A couple hours in, the whiskey stays but is joined by coconut. I’m not a huge fan of whiskey, so I had written this off until I came back several hours later to a dry down that struck me as buttery coconut. A really cool experience!

My goodness does this smell amazing! What is odd is that Gris Charnel and Yesterday Haze have many overlapping notes, but I find them to smell very different from one another.  Yesterday Haze is light and simply astonishing. The fig, whipped cream, fruity notes, tonka bean, and other notes combine to form this unique and lovely scent that reminds me of a sweetened tea. Not too sweet, though... just right.

The amazing thing is that the scent is consistent from opening to dry-down, and it is so nice. The tough part is how quickly it became a skin scent. If this lasted and projected well, I'd have purchased it. It really does smell that good. I highly recommend buying a decant and trying this on your skin. If it lasts and projects, you may be very pleasantly surprised to have found something that stands apart and shines. I sure hope Imaginary Authors finds a way to make it more powerful without making it screechy and synthetic. This one has the bones of a legend.

I've been on a vanilla, fig, and burnt wood kick and this checks those boxes. The wood was a little too much.
