Decanted Sample of Oud Noir Pour Homme by Versace

Not really my favorite

I have come to the realization I am just NOT a FAN of OUD scents. Not at all. Does not smell good and almost smells like shaving cream.

Oud, ambergris, and musk are very prominent scents. They dominate every fragrance they're in. I want another oud but can't seem to find one that is balanced like the Honeyed Tobacco Oud by Habibi. It isn't a bad smell. I like smelling it as a I walk past a person wearing it. I just don't want to smell it for 6 hours on my shirt.

Definitely took me by surprise at first. I thought maybe I got a bad batch because it was so off putting at first blast.

Then I did a little research, and by the time I got back to smelling my arm, it had magically transformed into an alluring softly spiced, woody scent that I couldn't believe.

I still don't know if it's something I want to wear much, but I'm intrigued and will give it a little more time. It's definitely worth a try.  

This is a great affordable oud fragrance. It's very mysterious and elegant. I would wear this during Fall and Winter.

I’ve been wanting to see the hype behind Oud in fragrances, and thats why I purchased this. It smells pretty good, but it’s definitely for older, more mature men. Not bad at all.

Bit tricky to talk about consider how similar it is to Oud Wood. The two main differences is that I liked the opening much more on the Oud Wood which commits fully to being balsamic and earthy compared to oud noir which added in way too much black pepper. However, like your typical Tom Ford fragrance, Oud Wood is both extremely expensive and lacks longevity. Oud noir lasts a decent while longer and it gets better in the drydown when that peppery note becomes more complimentary to the overall scent. Neither oud's are stinky and I would probably get oud noir when I can't afford oud wood or can't afford to keep re-applying oud wood.

My intro to an oud fragrance. This is a designer oud and is toned down, according to the YouTubers I watch. Not one I would wear often but is okay. I’ll give it more time.

Smells expensive, somewhat similar to Oud Wood, but of lesser quality and more affordable. Pretty good longevity. Better for an older person or someone wishing to give off a more mature, professional vibe. I definitely recommend sampling before buying, as it’s not for all.

I sampled both TF Oud Wood and Versace Oud Noir at the same time on separate arms and I can see why many say if you want to smell like Tom Ford Oud Wood but don't have the budget, grab this fragrance.  They were right but it's not an exact clone so keep that in mind.  Great scent, definitely would recommend.
