Decanted Sample of Stronger With You Leather by Emporio Armani

Opening has the resin and leather there. Resin makes the leather feel more animalistic. Soft slight sweetness of vanilla lingers in the background. Can also pickup the lavender in the leather.
The way the leather smells here is more wet (musky & animalistic) and not like the dry leather scents I like. The leather does quickly start to settle down as it dries down, and the powdery lavender presses forward.

This is a stronger with you flanker that is less sweet and slightly more dark. The leather isn’t very pronounced or animalic . Something different but not for me.

It was very difficult to conclude whether or not I liked it or not. The best I could come up with was "ehhh". It isn't terrible considering how difficult it is for leather to be the main accord of a fragrance. But it is not the best fragrance to do so. Stronger With You Leather is extremely sweet and synthetic, which are the two factors that make leather so difficult to incorporate into a scent. I would find it extremely hard to wear this fragrance appropriately.

Going darker just works for this DNA, it makes it more mature and less sweet and youthful, this one is second only to the Oud

None of the flankers really smell vastly different from each (other than SWY freeze) but I believe this is the best of the whole line. Smells pretty similar to SWY Oud but has more depth and a little more personality. Supposedly this fragrance has oud in it as well so not entirely sure why SWY Oud was even made... Both seem to riff off of SWY Intensely moreso than SWY Absolutely, which was a smart decision honestly. The leather in this is very very creamy and not nearly pronounced as compared to something like Ombre Leather, it's mostly to give the scent some darkness but I'd argue that the vanilla, chestnut + spices probably make at least 70% of the scent profile very much like the rest of the SWY line.
