Decanted Sample of Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier

I had higher hopes for this one after reading reviews. It starts off very pleasant, but then it turned into an unpleasant smell in my opinion. My female friend didn't like this one either, it was her least favorite out of the 12 we sampled.

I ordered this to see what the origin for my favorite scent (Elixir) was and I get it now.  It's the younger (older?) feeling predecessor to Parfum and Elixir. Easier to wear but not as much depth to the scent as the later versions. This is more playful bubblegummy  clubbing worthy scent. Not an essential frag to have but if you feel that Parfum or Elixir are to thick and sweet this is a good compromise while keeping that scent DNA.

Sweet powdery lavender with very very slight vanilla and mint notes. It doesnt smell amazing to me but something about it makes enjoy it alot. Very old school smell and definitely not for everyone, besides Elixir probably my favorite in the line

If fresh vanilla fragrances are your thing you might really enjoy this I just think it’s okay.

I really like the opening, the lavender and mint come in strong and create a sweet, but balanced scent. But after that fades, I just don't like it anymore, and it weirdly smells a little cloying to me. But, the projection and longevity are good, lasting around 8 hours with a decent projection.

classic in the aromatic warm spicy category. A pleasing and upbeat fragrance that resonates warmth and spice for those who want a something positively energizing.

This one definitely brings back memories, however, it smells a bit dated to me. I prefer some of the newer flankers.

One of my favorite scents. The word I have described this and happily discovered others too use this word, is "deep". The vanilla in this is not sweet, or at least not nearly as sweet as other fragrances, and combined with the lavender creates this very very rich and aromatic scent. It's admittedly a little played out since it's such an old and popular scent but the drydown really is something I keep sniffing because of how objectively pleasant smelling it is. If you like this, please go check out luna rossa sport which is as good or better.

A nice balance of freshness from mint and other notes and some sweetness from vanilla. I can appreciate the scent but wouldn’t wear it myself being a younger guy. I recommend sampling, but not buying a full bottle for regular wear.

Le Male is your good classic fresh out of the shower smell. It is a mint, vanilla, powdery smelling fragrance.
