Decanted Sample of Dior Homme Intense by Christian Dior

For what it is, it's one of the best. However, many may feel it's too generic.

Its a weird powdery lipstick smell, I didnt get what lipstick meant until I smelled it, wasnt a fan

Smells too much like something my grandma would wear personally, but relatively inoffensive sweet fragrance.

Objectively, this is a well crafted Fragrance. However, I have trouble with powdery/lipstick scents. I’d still recommend you give it a shot

So, this fragrance seems to have a massive cult following. I know that things can be hyped and then sort of let you down once you experience them, so I've learned to take all reviews with a grain of salt. But the overwhelming fan fare about this fragrance made me think it would likely blow my mind. It did not.

There's nothing wrong with Dior Homme Intense, but I find that it falls short of other iris-prevalent fragrances like Prada L'Homme, and don't see where this would fit into my arsenal. DHI is recommended as a good date night scent, and I'd never choose it over The One EDP, or even your chosen versatile fragrance. In the end, I don't think there's anything wrong with DHI, but the scent doesn't match up with the huge number of hyperbolic reviews that would lead you to believe everyone should own this.

As always, though, try it out and see what you think! I personally wish I could try the 2007 version, as I feel the vanilla in the 2007 version isn what is likely missing in the 2011 release to make it stand out as a date night or more alluring fragrance.  But many who have tried both versions say that there is little-to-no difference between the two, so keep that in mind as well. And, of course, it is nearly impossible to find a bottle of the 2007 release.

A more neutral Iris scent. Not as sweet or pronounced as Givency Gentleman. Can slightly make out the cedar. A safe mass appealing Iris, but still not everyone's cup of tea.

Woody and powdery. Great date night scent.

One of the best if not the best iris forward scents. The newer version is less sweet and more woody. A very well blended and easy to wear Iris fragrance. Super subtle and creamy/mellow.

Opens with soft lavender, pear, and vetiver-esque woodiness, giving it almost a fougere effect. Dries down to rich powdery florals with a heavy dose of vanilla. Masculine yet gentle and comforting that screams sophistication. Gorgeous

Great fragrance for the cold weather. Although i do get a lot of mixed reactions with this one. Been told by my girlfriend that it smells like an old antique store but i dont smell that honestly . 8/10 in my books !

10/10, miraculously niche-quality masterpiece at its low price point. Will buy.

It’s a good smelling powdery fragrance but not for me

I usually don't care for powdery, lipsticky, iris fragrances... but this is just so smooth and perfectly blended it is hard not to love.    Iris and woods dominate, but I get a distinct cacao/vanilla-ish vibe to this that is very pleasant and smooth.  I will say it might not be for everyone, def try a sample first.

I've tried some clones of this one and while the performance is better on those Dior Homme Intense feels better in terms of qualify.  Its good with the longevity for me at about 6 1/2 hours off the sample I bought. Comes across slightly feminine but it's definitely sample worth for those that understand the profile and what to expect. Dior Homme Intense is an enjoyable frag for sure and one I'm glad I got an original sample to experience it.

Interesting fragrance- the powdery iris is not for me. Does dry down to a nice note, but I prefer Prada lhomme for an iris fragrance

The "lipsticky" characteristic I've heard so much about is abundantly clear at first whiff of this one... and it's not my favorite.

That being said, so many people rave about Dior Homme Intense being a masterpiece, I feel the need to sit with it a little longer. I've really just started appreciating iris notes in men's fragrances, so I think I just waded into the deep end a little too quickly. :)

I would suggest trying before buying with this one.

I’ve heard the hype so I had to try it. Honestly, as many reviewers have said it smells like lipstick. Sweet, powdery lipstick. First wearing and I’m really liking it.

I wanted the try this fragrance. I like it for the winter. Sweet, sexy, overall great ! Recommended.

Seriously good.  The first few hours are dense and spicy, and for the rest of its life it's powdery iris.  Long lasting and noticeable, my girlfriend picks this one every time over many other niche scents that I have.

The cologne has become one of my favorites.

One of the best iris scents for men at the moment. Woody, rich and warm. It can come off as too powdery and sweet but if you layer it with Dior Homme 2020 you'll get a very masculine versatile scent.

Decent scent, can come off as unisex due to the powdery nature from the Iris note. Has a slight resemblance to Prada L'homme.

Love this scent. Yes it’s powdery, but also dark and sophisticated. Classic for sure.

A bit too powdery for me, but wonderfully blended.

The opening is alittle to get used to, it has a hint of makeup smell to it. But once you get to that drydown, it’s amazing! I cannot stop smelling the sample. It has this creamy sweet pear note that’s amazing, not the most manly, but I don’t care, it’s smells amazing to me. Definitely for the colder weather.

It was a bit too floral for my taste. Dries down better than it starts, but this just wasn't something I'd be interested in wearing.

I really prefer 2020 over Intense, but I prefer clean smelling fragrances over warm spicy fragrances.  That being said, this one kinda sits in the middle for me.  It's good, but not great.  

This stuff is amazing.  Smells great and lasts a long time.  It does smell a little lipsticky, so it can come across as feminine to some, but there's also a masculinity to it.  It's definitely worth a try.
