Decanted Sample of L'Homme Ideal by Guerlain

Recently tried the EDP, but this was my first go with Guerlain.  Great for cool weather, cold weather as well.  It can work as a daily driver in the cold months.  If you've tried the EDP, this is the same, minus the cherry.  The sweet almond really pops and it wasn't overwhelming, blended just right.

Don't smell the almond that a lot of people are getting at. Not the biggest fan of the floral notes.

Smells great just not my style. Floral and light but with that hint of almond. Nice overall.

Just sort of an okay scent. Has that element that smells "Guerlain." But don't know that I really consider this an "ideal man" scent. There's an underlying flowery vanilla that doesn't really make this a great daily wear scent -- more something that seems like it could be non-offensive to wear with a suit, or something otherwise a little dressed up. Not something I feel comfortable with even in business casual. It's got a bit more of a "fancy" air for that. Generally forgettable otherwise -- don't consider it one of Guerlain's best.

This is a sweet somewhat sophisticated cologne with a unique almond note very interesting

This was my first foray into Guerlain and I was thoroughly impressed with this fragrance. Almond, citrus and woods are the main notes I got on my skin, with the almond being the star. Smells high quality, with good performance and safe for any setting.  Would be great for fall. This one got me interested in the rest of the L'Homme Ideal line, can't wait to try the rest.

It’s a good fragrance for what it is. An almond forward scent, it almost smells kind of metallic to me, with some citrus and sweetness in it. Performance is great too.

Nice gourmand for the price at $125 for 3.4oz ($35/oz).

7/10 for performance vs value.

Nothing too good, nothing too bad. Smells of almonds with average projection and longevity.

My least favorite of the line along with the Platine Prive.

It smells very nice and very high quality. I am a fan of most Guerlain frags.

Guerlain never disappoints, this smells so damn good, I have to add it to the collection.

This one is very dark and smells manly. Not one that I would wear daily.

Very unique DNA...sweet, masculine, classy. Great compliment getter. The dry down is beautiful, fruity, airy, gentlemanly.

Smells like a classy after-shave, to be honest. It's a classic scent that is green, fresh, and reminds me of fresh cut pine. It isn't for me, but I can see someone really like this.

To me this is by far the worst of the line. This was before they added some cherry / fruity notes to the line and unfortunately this just doesn't smell as good as any of the others. It's decent scent wise kind of woody and also lasts long but compared to the others in the line it's just a let down.

Appealing yet somewhat unique. This opens citrusy and dries down into a nice woody, almondly sweetness. Good for most occasions. Solid performance. I recommend trying.

The almondy wood smell DNA from this really stands out.  Lasts a long time and got a bunch of compliments.  In my opinion, all flankers from L'Homme Ideal are still top tier for me.

This is a sweet, woody one with a throwback vibe. The almond note is easy to pick up. Feels like a cold weather fragrance to me, but I think its versatile.
