Big Changes Throughout

When I first sprayed I was thinking dry, powdery, and flowery. Once settled, vanilla shows up adding sweetness. Suddenly, incense takes over and it is the dominant scent to my nose, backed by vanilla. This is not for me, but if you like incense, this has it while staying classy.

Musty Vintage Store Smell

Bright start, but darkens very quickly. Pretty heavy tobacco, old musty vintage store? Might be too strong and cloying.
Second spray evened out the smell much more. Still a bit musty.

This is in my top 3 PDM fragrances. I love the Tobacco in this, it's sweet tobacco and doesnt smelled burned. Great date night for me.

Tobacco not for me

I really wanted to like this one as I’ve heard nothing but good things. As far as tobacco frags go this is probably the best I’ve tried so far (in my limited experience). The tobacco is there but the sweetness is also as strong. For me it smelled like medicine… not for me.

If you love tobacco

If you love tobacco you might enjoy it. It’s not one of my favorites from the house. It smells medicinal at times. I think Pure Havane or Tabacco Vanille are better executions of this scent profile. Performance is also a bit below average for PDM

Fantastic scent. As always from PDM, you can smell the quality. A slightly sweet tabacooey fragrance. Well blended spices.

A very pleasant smell, but too sweet for my liking. It's more seductive than gentlemanly--almost like the remnant of a girls lip gloss. Good cologne, but not my favorite

The production is everything it need to be I'am not enthuse by the frangrance it self. Almost everyone that smelled it on me or them selves like it and for the name of it. Ibib sample Herod on tissue and had a different prospective.

Truly amazing

The scent is beautifully blended and smooth. Very masculine with a slight sweetness that lingers for days on clothing. Will be looking to buy a bottle one day.... When it's on sale. Lovely!

My top PDM fragrance

Herod is the best Parfums de Marly for me! It has PDM’s take on the best oriental type scent. I have tried almost all of their frags to include Layton and still Herod tops. If your looking for an oriental type scent, with tobacco, wood, and, spicy type. You’ll live this!

Its good...It's a manly scent. Very similar to spicebomb extreme, less (5/10) amber, less spicy (5/10), more vanilla(4/10) than spicebomb extreme, more boozie(3/10)...
Both are good... harod is slightly more woody smelling (4/10)
- Less in your face than S.E.
I think spicebomb extreme is better, unless im looking for more subtle cologne
- less bite than SBE, & more smooth, but also slightly more floural (3/10), than SBE..
But after 5 hours SBE was stinging my nose... herod doesnt have that bite.
Both are good... harod is slightly more woody smelling (4/10)
